Welcome to our Howell Ambassador gear drive page
We
are the proud company continuing the production of the Howell Ambassador
Drive. The Ambassador elevator
gear reducer is one of the few direct connect gear drives
for the grain and feed industry. Direct connect means that the motor
shaft
is directly connected to the input shaft of the gear drive
through a coupling. It does not depend on belts or chains to connect
the motor
to the drive.

The
Howell Ambassador drive continues to provide low maintenance and cost
effective operation for many years. We manufacture all replacement
parts, assemblies, and oil for the Ambassador drive. One of the advantages
to the Ambassador drive is that it is easily repaired while still
installed on the leg. Most replacement parts and oil can be shipped
immediately for next day delivery when needed. If you don’t
have or know of a qualified service technician, give us a call and
we can get you in touch with one.

Most
importantly, it is our goal to meet and exceed your expectations.
We are here to provide you, our valued customer, with the highest
quality service and parts. We have maintained a record of all Ambassador
drives that have been manufactured. Call us for any technical information
and assistance on maintaining and servicing your drives. We realize
the quality demands of our customers. We strive to produce the finest
quality machined parts possible, every time.

Howell Ambassador gear drives have been around for a long time. Many
of the calls we receive for replacement parts are for drives that
are 25 or more years old. When customers have an older Ambassador
drive they usually ask the same question:
What is the advantage to repairing our existing drive over replacing
it?
1. Cost Efficient
- Ambassador drives can be repaired and rebuilt while still
installed on the elevator leg ·
- Individual parts and bearings
can be replaced rather than replacing the entire drive
2. Time Efficient
- Most repairs can be done within a few hours
- This
means less down time
3.
Improvements
- Many improvements have been made to the manufacturing
of internal drive components
- Better quality alloy and
stainless steels are used
- A higher quality, more efficient
oil has been formulated
4. Trust a Proven Performer
- Ambassador drives have been in use for over 60 years
- Many
drives are still in continued use since as far back
as World War 2
